Assimilation Opportunity for Service Description Opportunity for Service: Assimilation Task Force Brief Description: The Task force makes decisions related to the implementation of members into the worship and fellowship of the community of believers. Responsible to: Board of Elders and Church Council. The leader of the task force will communicate and report to other task forces and boards as appropriate. Importance of Ministry: The Task force facilitates the incorporation of new & current members into the congregational family. Time Frame: Monthly meetings with assignments between meetings. Length of Service: 1 year, with opportunity to serve additional terms Skills You Will Need: Leadership, decision-making, creativity, a “people person,” organized, detail oriented Training/Assistance Available: Staff person/director/volunteer leader who is responsible for supervising, and previous task force members share their assimilation plans with the next recruited group. Number of Volunteers Needed and/or Involved: 4-6 Task force members (chair/director, recorder, and computer specialist are essential.) Benefit to the Volunteer: Satisfaction in attending to the needs of new member and providing a path to their integration into the church.
